PLEASE NOTE that due to the current COVID-19 situation the hospital has chosen not to run group training at this time, but we are running classes at our Scarborough location at 2206 Eglinton Ave. East at Birchmount and are back at our downtown location at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre at 750 Spadina Avenue at Bloor/Spadina!! Course Content – BLS CPR
This CPR renewal course is a Basic Life Support or BLS Provider/Healthcare Provider (formerly known as HCP-C) CPR renewal class conducted under Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. The class includes adult, child and infant CPR and choking relief techniques, along with bag valve mask training, two rescuer CPR, jaw thrust and other healthcare techniques.
The participant must be present for the full scheduled course time and complete all required activities in order to receive the CPR card – latecomers will not be admitted and will need to reschedule. Heart and Stroke recommends that all instructors and participants should be fully vaccinated and should expect to show proof if requested.Please note that the proof of Basic Life Support Provider or BLS CPR training will be emailed directly to the participant after the class from Heart and Stroke Foundation – therefore, we must have a valid email address for each participant. Course Prerequisites
If your previous Heart and Stroke training has expired or is current but through a different agency, you MUST pay Heart and Stroke a separate $10 fee and successfully complete their online Prerequisite Challenge quiz before you can attend their renewal class. The manual/e-book should be purchased through the Heart and Stroke online shop.
Physical distancing is maintained, mask/gloves must be worn throughout the class, equipment is bagged individually for each participant and screening questions must be answered upon arrival. Anyone with symptoms or who has been exposed to anyone with symptoms must reschedule their training.
